Encounters Nepal Poon Hill treks starts with a scenic few hour drive from the touristic city of Pokhara leading towards at the foot hills of Annapurna Himalaya at Nayapul and Bhirethati, where this thrilling country walks begins past Bhirethati village on the Trans Himalayan Salt Trade Caravan Route which actually leads to Tibet via Upper Mustang region beyond Ghorepani and Poon Hill route.

Walk leads through many Gurung tribe farm villages on the winding gradual uphill trail and then a steep climb on stone steps to Ulleri village, from here heading through the pristine woodlands of rhododendron, pines, oaks and fir trees on the undulating trek with short steep ups till Ghorepani village at Deurali is reached at the height of 2,874 meters a dramatic change in landscapes, vegetations and climate, Ghorepani village located at the base of Poon Hill with fantastic views of Dhaulagiri mountain range with Nilgiris, Vara Shikar (Annapurna Fang) and Annapurna South.
