Top 5 Adventure Travel Spots in Nepal

Top 5 Adventure Travel Spots in Nepal

Adventure is one activity that enthralls the traveler. In fact, there is hardly any one of this species who want to take a plain, restful travel without even the slightest touch of adventure. One destination that inevitably comes in mind one is considering a travel of this kind is Nepal. Though not marketed much, it was and has always been the proud spot where the highest mountain in the world, the Mt Everest, is situated. Hence, to expect other spots delivering such an experience would not be an exaggeration to this honor!

Five of the Many Adventure Spots in Nepal
Geographically situated between two of the largest countries in the world, India and China, Nepal has been quiet and unannounced in its presence, but for the mountain Mt. Everest. As one explores a further beyond this goal, there are many adventure spots that can be discovered that would give a rush to the adrenaline if explored with the same zest! Five of the many could be:

1.   Everest base Camp

The very fact that Everest is a well-known name in terms of the highest mountain, adventure is but attached to it. Now, conquering Everest may be the ultimate dream for a complete adventurist, yet in reality, it is not for most to do so. Hence, a trek by the given name is organized for the trekkers to give the same thrill, feel, and high! It is a trek that is scheduled across 16 days is a consuming trek climbing one’s way through the lush spread of many forests in the most trying of weather conditions and testing one’s stamina – both physically and mentally.

2.   Rara lake

This is the biggest lake found within the borders of Nepal. An altitude of 2990 meters above the sea level, it flows across an area of 10.8 Km. What is more of a bountiful here is that it is surrounded with the Rara National Park all around it, a ‘natural shield’ of sorts to protect this lake from any damage. This area has to be trekked and is popular with the trekkers. A mountainous trek follows from Jumla and stretches across many hamlets still in their primal form! A chance to be with nature in its all beauty, with one’s body and soul!

3.   Upper Mustang

Geographically and culturally more close to Tibet, Mustang is considered to be the domain of the Buddhists, also known as Lo Lo. This trek is all about exploring this aspect of the famous culture, along with sufficient doses of adventure in the course! Such an apparent ‘peaceful’ destination has to be trekked as very hard mountainous rocks is what this essentially deserted part of the country is. So, one could possibly describe it as ‘peaceful adventure’ though the adventure stays intact in this one!

4.   Annapurna Base Camp

Very contrary to the usual notion of a mountain, the Annapurna range of mountains are actually surrounded by what is called the most attractive of flora: the rhododendron or the ornamental ones. This trek is very popular for the fact that one gets to touch base with landscapes of so many varieties. It wraps at almost the base of the mountain range in a mere span of 7-11 days. This trek can be undertaken in any season, though spring is the most welcoming of all, thanks the flora of the area in its full mood!

5.   Tilicho Lake

This is officially known as one of the highest lakes in the world that is located in the Annapurna mountain range in the Manang region. It has an altitude of nearly 5000 meters. While attempting the Annapurna circuit, does come across the ripples of this lake that is above the 5000 meters high Thorong La pass. This trek infuses a lot of energy as one attempt a trek along this zone.

Whether it is Bungy jumping, ice climbing, trekking or mountain biking, Nepal is one of the most sought after adventure travel destinations amidst serenity. Without any spec of doubt, Nepal is definitely an adventurous Himalayan country in the lap of Mother Nature! An irony to be explored, for sure!
